Dr. Gene Stevenson
DVM (1942-2020)

Dr.”Gene” originated from Darlington, Wisconsin and received his veterinary degree from Iowa State University in 1966. He served as a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corp from 1966 to 1968. He cared for military working dogs while serving in Vietnam. He migrated to Maryland in 1977 and worked as a relief veterinarian throughout Maryland. By July of 1993, he decided to dedicate himself to his own practice and Odenton Veterinary Hospital was born.

Dr. Stevenson’s has been dedicated to his passion of taking care of the health and well being of all the pets that have been through his hospital since he started in 1993.

Dr Steve will forever be missed and his legacy will go on as  Odenton Veterinary Hospital will continue his dream. Thank you Dr Steve for all the exemplary work you have done .

Special Interests: Dr. Stevenson’s area of special interest was surgery, and pet wellness. He was a faithful Redskins fan, and enjoyed visiting his family farm in Wisconsin.
Dr. Robert Slade
DVM

Dr. Slade is a 1994 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his B.A degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1990. He grew up on a small farm in Carroll County, Maryland complete with Jersey cattle, horses, swine, chickens and YES! dogs and cats. It is no doubt that he had a love for animals and became a veterinarian, He practiced at the Reisterstown Veterinary Center in Reisterstown, Maryland from 1994 to 1998.

Dr. Slade joined Odenton Veterinary Hospital in 1998 and has been with the hospital till this day.

Special Interests: Dr. Slade takes care of his mom’s horses and has three cats of his own

All the technicians and support staff at the Odenton Veterinary Hospital are individuals who love and care for the health of animals. They are dedicated to their work and their mission is to make all pet’s lives better, healthier and happier. Some technicians are college students who are studying to be veterinarians themselves. Their passion, hard work, and love of what they do makes the hospital a warm and inviting environment for all the pets and owners.
